About Springboard Advocacy

Bridging the gap between school-based support and real-world independence.

Our approach

Many educational advocates focus primarily on compliance and legal processes. Many tutors focus primarily on academics. Springboard Advocacy focuses on the whole student: systems, skills, confidence, independence, and long-term success.

Hayley · Founder, Springboard Advocacy

Hayley has spent over 15 years working inside America's public education system. She started at the district level serving DC Public Schools, then earned her master's in Curriculum and Teaching and Inclusive Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. She went on to teach middle and high school students with disabilities in New York City and served as an instructional coach for teachers in San Francisco. She is now a mom of two elementary-aged children and works as a full-time high school special education teacher in Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. There she designed and teaches a new course to help high school students with disabilities build their executive function and social-emotional skills.

Hayley has facilitated hundreds of IEP meetings across multiple school districts. She knows how confusing, technical, and overwhelming this process can feel for families. But she also knows what happens when parents walk in feeling informed and confident: their children get the support they need.

"Families shouldn't have to navigate this alone, and children should feel like school is a place where they can thrive."
