How we handle your information
What Springboard Advocacy collects through this website and our client records app, why, and how to ask us to see or delete it. Last updated October 18, 2026.
Who we are
Springboard Advocacy offers educational advocacy (IEP and 504) and executive function coaching for families, virtually nationwide and in person around Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Durham, North Carolina. "We" and "us" on this page mean Springboard Advocacy. This policy covers springboardadvocacy.com and Springboard Accounting, our private client records app at app.springboardadvocacy.com.
What we collect on this website
- What you send through the contact form. Your name, email address, phone number if you give one, your student's grade level, what you are looking for, and your message. It comes to us by email through Web3Forms, and it is saved in our client records so we can reply and keep track of your inquiry.
- How the site is used. We use PostHog to see which pages are visited, what is clicked, the type of device and browser, and a rough location worked out from your IP address. PostHog can also record how a visit moves through the page, with what you type into form fields hidden. When you send the contact form, PostHog records that you sent it, along with your name and email address, so we can tell which inquiries came from which visits.
- Advertising. We advertise with Google Ads, and the Google tag on every page lets Google count visits that came from an ad. When you send the contact form, we send Google a scrambled (SHA-256 hashed) copy of your email address so Google can match the inquiry to an ad click. Google does not get your email address in readable form from us.
- Your country. Our services are for families in the United States, so when you open the contact page your browser asks Cloudflare which country your connection is in. We use the answer only to decide whether to accept the form.
Springboard Accounting and Sign in with Google
Springboard Accounting is an internal tool that only members of our team can use. It holds our client records, notes, and business finances. Families do not sign in to it.
Team members sign in with Google. When they do, Google shares their name, email address, and profile picture with us. We use these only to confirm that the person is on our team and to show who is signed in. We do not ask for access to Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, calendars, or any other Google data. Information we receive from Google is not sold, not used for advertising, and not shared with anyone except the services that run the app (listed below). Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How we use information
- To reply to you, schedule calls, and provide the services you ask for.
- To keep client and business records, including the records we need for taxes.
- To understand how the website is used and improve it.
- To measure whether our advertising works.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with the services we use to run the website and our business, and only for that purpose:
- Web3Forms, which emails contact form messages to us.
- Supabase, which stores our client records and runs Springboard Accounting.
- PostHog, for website analytics.
- Google, for advertising (Google Ads), our email (Google Workspace), and sign-in for our team.
- Cloudflare, for the country check on the contact page.
- GitHub Pages, which hosts this website and keeps standard server logs.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
Cookies
PostHog and Google Ads use cookies and similar browser storage to recognize returning visits and ad clicks. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, and you can manage Google ad personalization at My Ad Center. The site works without them.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiries and client records for as long as we work together and afterward for as long as we need them for our business and tax records. Website analytics are kept according to PostHog's retention settings.
Children's information
This website is meant for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect information through it from children under 13. Information about a student that a parent shares with us is used only to provide our services to that family.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Contact us and we will respond within 30 days. Some records, like payment records, may need to be kept for tax purposes, and we will tell you if that applies.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top.
